Uncle Jerry's Handmade Pennsylvania Dutch Pretzels is a small, family-owned business. Our pretzels have been baked in a rural Lancaster County location for over 30 years and we've stayed true to our commitment of providing a fresh, crunchy, and all natural sourdough pretzel.
A Humble Beginning
Back in 1988, Jerry started Uncle Jerry's Pretzels delivering pretzels in the Delaware Valley region; he started with just one variety, the flagship Specials.
FUN FACT: A family friend hand drew Uncle Jerry's logo which we still use today.
Expanding Our Product Lines
After winning in 1990, a Best of Philly award for its hard pretzel, Uncle Jerry's experiments with new flavors. During the 1990's, we launched the whole milk and dark chocolate pretzel lines, individually wrapped pretzels, and our first chocolate pretzel for Uncle Jerry's.
It was during this period the now top selling pretzel Extra Dark and then the more unique oat bran pretzels were launched.
Uncle Jerry's Goes Digital
The new millennium ushered in a number of changes. First and foremost Jerry's daughter, Misty, joins the Uncle Jerry's team back in 2008.
With fresh eyes, Misty championed the digital efforts for the company and unclejerryspretzels.com website was launched in 2009 along with our new budding ecommerce business.
The Bi-coastal Crunch
In 2012, we started national distribution and Uncle Jerry's becomes available on the West Coast, giving pretzels lovers across the US something to celebrate.
But what's a celebration without a bit of chocolate? It wasn't long before we launched the highly popular, extra dark pieces in dark chocolate. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, in 2017, Uncle Jerry's launches the milk and dark chocolate peanut butter pretzel bites, further expanding its lines of business.
Spreading the Love Far & Wide
Jerry and Misty are still collaborating and working together. Believe it or not, Jerry is still delivering pretzels.
Now that our ecommerce business has expanded, and we're now distributed all over the country, there are so many great things to come in the years ahead - like subscriptions and rewards for your favorite pretzels.
