Make Delicious Chocolate Covered Pretzels with Uncle Jerry's

These are so easy to make and so delicious. Using Uncle Jerry's Pretzels for this classic chocolate recipe is a great twist, as they offer more surface area and crunch!

Ingredients:

  • 6 large Uncle Jerry's Pretzels (choose your salt preference)
  • 1 ½ cups of semisweet chocolate chips (or use a mix of milk and dark chocolate)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of coconut oil or vegetable oil (optional for smoother melting)
  • ½ cup of crushed nuts, sea salt, or caramel drizzle (optional for topping)
  • Parchment paper or wax paper

Instructions:

Prepare the pretzels:
  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
  • If using soft pretzels, bake or warm them first according to the package instructions, then allow them to cool completely before dipping.

    Melt the chocolate:

    • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil.
    • Microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stovetop.

    Dip the pretzels:

    • Hold each Uncle Jerry's Pretzel by an edge and dip it halfway into the melted chocolate. You can dip the whole pretzel if you prefer a thicker chocolate coating.
    • Let the excess chocolate drip off before placing the pretzel on the lined baking sheet

     Add toppings (optional):

    • Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with crushed nuts, sea salt, or drizzle with caramel for an extra indulgence.
    • For a decorative touch, you can also drizzle some melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate coating once it’s set.

    Let the chocolate set:

    • Allow the pretzels to cool at room temperature or place them in the fridge for about 20 minutes to help the chocolate harden.

    Serve and enjoy:

    • Once the chocolate has hardened, your large chocolate-covered Pennsylvania Dutch pretzels are ready to enjoy. These make for a fun dessert or party snack with that perfect sweet and salty combination!

    Optional Variations:

    • Pretzel Bark: Break the large pretzels into pieces before dipping them in chocolate to create a pretzel bark-style treat.
    • Stuffed: You can even slather the pretzels with peanut butter or caramel before dipping in chocolate for an extra surprise inside!

These larger pretzels can carry heavier toppings and will have that classic Uncle Jerry's Pennsylvania Dutch crunch, making them perfect for a heartier snack or dessert.
